How the Calculator Works
The calculator uses publicly available guidelines from Services Australia to estimate whether your combination of payment type, living arrangements, accommodation, and rent amount is likely to meet the general criteria for Rent Assistance.
Rent Assistance is an additional payment attached to certain Centrelink payments — it is not available as a standalone payment. The amount you may receive depends primarily on how much rent you pay above a minimum threshold set by Services Australia. That threshold changes depending on your family situation.

How to Get Rent Assistance
